Support your National Park
The Mississippi National River and Recreation Area is a national treasure. Your contribution funds youth education, environmental stewardship, and community programs that foster enduring connections between people and the only national park dedicated to the Mississippi River.
When you donate, you invite the discovery of this special place through connections between people and the river and between communities at the river’s edge. When you make your tax-deductible contribution, you will also become part of a community that is engaged through special experiences, events, and discounts.
Membership
Members help preserve the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area’s floodplain forests, wildlife habitat, river parks, and natural spaces. Starting at just $60 per year, members also receive benefits and enjoy the tremendous satisfaction of being a steward of a national treasure. Your recurring gift supports a river for all forever!

For young adults, under the age of 35, a discounted membership is available for $35.
Donor-Advised Funds
Giving from your donor-advised fund (DAF) is simple. You can recommend a grant to Mississippi Park Connection, and your DAF administrator will distribute the grant directly. Mississippi Park Connection can also provide memberships for gifts made through a donor-advised fund.
IRA Charitable Distributions
IRA owners aged 70 ½ or older can give up to $100,000 directly to charity from their IRA, tax-free. The amount of the charitable distribution can be excluded from your federal income, lowering your overall tax liability. This option provides tax savings even if you do not itemize deductions.

Gift of Stock
If you wish to make a donation of stock to Mississippi Park Connection, you may make the gift as stock or sell the asset and donate the gift as cash. Please contact awaugh@parkconnection.org or 651-291-8164 for more information.
Legacy Gifts
Mississippi Park Connection may accept gifts through a will, charitable trust, or life insurance policy that meets our Gift Acceptance Policy. We love working with donors who desire to give more complicated assets, such as real estate or tangible property. Tribute and Memorial Gifts
What better way to pay tribute to a loved one or honor a milestone than to make a gift, of any amount, to benefit the Mississippi River?
Your gift will acknowledge a special person or occasion while helping further our efforts to enhance conservation, stewardship, and education programs within the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area.
In addition to providing you with a contribution receipt, you can opt to have your tribute or memorial included in our annual report.

Dollars for Doers
Dollars for Doers is a corporate giving program that allows you to make a donation through your company for hours worked as a volunteer. Similar programs include Volunteer Grant Programs, Matching Time-Programs, Dollar for Hour Programs, and Grants for Time. If your employer participates in one of these programs, you will simply need to report your volunteer hours so your company can reward you and the Mississippi River.
