Mississippi Park Connection provides opportunities for people to get to and on the river—and have a national park experience in the Twin Cities.

In partnership with the National Park Service, our youth education, community engagement, and environmental stewardship programs connect people to their national park.

Picnic for the Park

You are invited to celebrate the Mississippi River’s National Park at Picnic for the Park on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Harriet Island from 5:30-8PM.

Join Mississippi Park Connection for an evening of fun, discovery, and breathtaking views of the Saint Paul skyline while you enjoy a delicious dinner from Twin Cities restaurants, bid on exclusive items in our silent auction, and relax with friends.

Spring / Summer Events

Summer is almost here, and we've been hard at work planning an exciting lineup of events! Registration is now OPEN! Join us for Junior Ranger: Fins and Feathers, Park After Dark, History Cruise, Yoga, In Practice, and Mystery on the Mississippi. Plus, explore the river with various routes through our Paddle with a Ranger program. Don't miss out on the fun—get outside and enjoy the beauty of the Mississippi River. See you on the river!

Mississippi River Learning Center
+ National Park Service Headquarters

The Mississippi River Learning Center will host year-round environmental, cultural, and historical education and recreation opportunities that are integrated into the region’s routines, traditions, and collective identity. We will build a river-centered community that values the Mississippi and will care for it in the future.
